The old courthouse in Kopparberg

July 8th, 2008 Peter Korkala Posted in Photo | 9 Comments »

The house with the clock tower (do you call that a clock tower even if it’s not that heigh?) is the old courthouse of Kopparberg. Kopparberg is the seat of Ljusnarsbergs municipality in which I live – but I live in a tiny, tiny village located 15 km north of Kopparberg. Today the tourist information bureau is located in the old courthouse.

The sky in this photo is very overexposured, but it have to do anyway. I took this photo earlier today when I was in town to do some grocery shopping. (Heres a link to the same photo, but with a better sky, thanks Photoshop.)

Help me improve my English writing

And by the way, please correct me if you find something wrong, or a strange expression, in my posts. One of my purposes with this blog is to get more experience in writing about all and everything in English, and I’ll be glad if you tell me when I type something wrong, (i.e. misspell a word or use the wrong grammar).

If you do that, you’ll help me improve my English writing. Thanks in advance!

  1. Nice Photo Peter. :) The place looks great! I guess a little photoshopping would fix the sky but I thought it was ok, it gave a nice contrast to the buildings.

I wish I could help you on the english, hehe I am in same situation as you. :)

  2. Thanks Øyvind.
You can learn me to write in Norwegian instead! :)

  3. :) I’m not a very good teacher. :)

Men vi forstår hverandre sikkert ganske godt uansett. :D

  4. Do you want corrections in the comments or mailed to you?

  5. Tom, it doesn’t matter. I think we can discuss it here in the comments.

  6. Hi! Great pictures of the town, it looks like peparkakor houses that you make around christmas. My girlfriend walked by my computer as I was looking at this and noticed immediately the lovely pics!

  7. Thank you, System Operator! Say hello to your girlfriend from me! :)

  8. Hej Peter,

In English, you would say “when I was in town to DO some grocery shopping”.
